I have always wanted to draw Nini’s family.  The characters in this picture are Nini’s father “Kotkankynsi” (Eaglesclaw), Nini’s big sisters Nana (later named “Vilkasjalka” - “Livelyfeet” and her mother, who I have almost decided to name “Helläsydän” (Tenderheart). (Suggested by  Thank you for the wonderful suggestion!!  ) The problem has been that I can decide the way they should look. The most challenging character in this picture was Nini’s father. He should look like Nini’s father and at the same time resemble the leader of the cippari tribe. This picture is more focused on his soft daddy side.  Nana also looks way too much like Nini in this picture.  The painting didn’t succeed so well as I had hoped. The colours turned a little bit too strong and I picked the wrong colours for the characters.  Hope you like it anyway. The sketch looked lovely even whiteout painting. Nini's father was a really hard character to make. I'm not good at drawing males and it was really hard to make him look even a bit like the leader of the cippari tribe. I didn't mean him to be worried, but prehaps he is a bit worried... Maybe he predicts that the little one waiting to be born is going to cause a lot of trouble.
Unfortunately I have only english pronouncing guides in my dictionaries and language books.
At least the first syllable always takes the main stress and in compound words, the first syllables of components other than the first one have secondary stress. The unstressed vovels aren't reduced. Word Helläsydän consists of two words: "Hellä" (tender) and "Sydän" (heart) so the stress goes: "HEL-lä-SY-dän"
