My exam week is finally over and I’m able to paint again. :)

I got inspired from the autumn colors. I collected leaves from the ground and used them as a reference for the picture. I tried this time a little more realistic drawing and painting style.

I used thicker and better watercolor paper for this picture. It was so easy to use! I’ll never use those cheap “I’ll-get-wrinkled-instantly-when-you-drop-little-waterdrop-on-me” papers again. :D

I’m really pleased with the result.

Ah,.. this prolongates the autumn, that has almost withered away outside my window. I like its sketchy look, but maybe it lacks some depth in the hedgehog (or whoever it is) area..?

Actually, it took me while to see what's hiding from the thumbnail. :aww:

The color of trees in Finland is quite inspiring, as I remembered from 2 years ago when I visited there.
I heard northern place have more vivid color for leaves in Fall due to temperature change or something(i read it somewhere but forgot the details... :P).

It's still on it's best here in southern Finland. There's snow already in the north. :)
I agree. I should have added a little bit more shadow over the face, because some of the leaves are blocking the light. I meant to add that, but I forgot. :blushes:

Wow... I haven't heard that one before, but it sounds logical.

They are really ispiring. I can't resist painting them... I have way too many autumn pictures compared to other seasons. ;)

Oh that's adorable!! I think this is awesome, the colouring is so perfect, it's like it's camaflouged but your eye is still attracted to it! Your leaves remind me of maple leaves~, but the way you coloured it makes it feel very..crisp.
